I have to say… I liked this book A LOT better than I liked Julian and Josephine’ story. I’m a big Fan of Grey and I think she truly has a gift for making you really connect with her characters. So I was a little disappointed when I read Julian and Josephine’s story and just felt… meh once it was over. THIS story though!! I love love LOVED this story! Lily and Dean blew my mind. Their banter and chemistry could be felt through the pages of the book, their attraction for one another was explosive and I absolutely adored them as a couple.Lily has just moved to the big smoke and moved in with her bestie, Jospehine. She’s working on her food blog and with limited funds, knows that she needs to find a job ASAP. Enter, Dean Harper. Dean is a restaurant entrepreneur/connoisseur and it just so happens that he is hiring a bartender at his new restaurant. While Dean is out of town, Lily manages to snag a job and is an absolute hit with the bar patrons, however, a hit with Dean, she is not…..As soon as Dean lays eyes on Lily, he knows she’s trouble. She’s reckless and a real spitfire that manages to push every single one of his buttons. What ensues is a funny, rollercoaster ride of awesome-ness as Dean and Lily try to work together and not rip the other person to pieces.Grey writes characters that have depth and dimension. She keeps you immersed in the storyline and keeps a nice strong pace. Lily and Dean together was like magic. I honestly could not think of a couple that suit each other as much as these 2. I really enjoyed the fact that their story wasn’t straight forward, and I especially enjoyed the fact that it wasn’t easy . I liked that they found each other attractive and yet wanted to murder the other person before the day had even started, I think maybe the reason I liked this book more than Julian and Josephine’s was that I found Dean and Lily to be much more likeable characters. For one, I enjoy a bit more broodiness in my male leads, and Dean definitely delivers on this. Julian was just tooooo….. NICE. Dean was an a**hole and I loved it. Lily! She rocked my world. I love it when a book makes me laugh out loud and somebody has to ask me “what are you laughing at??” and then the eventual “why do you you keep laughing?” Why? You ask? Because this book was hilarious! LILY, was hilarious. She had the best sense of humor and her character spoke to me on so many levels. It was nice to see Josephine and Julian make appearances again in this book and I do wonder who Grey’s next set of characters will be. I really enjoyed this book and I feel like I’ve discovered crack cocaine in the form of a book/series. This was a great read and I definitely recommended. Can’t wait to see what grey brings out next!

The Allure of Dean Harper (The Allure #2) by RS Grey4.5 stars!!“...One day you’ll wake up and realise that you’re completely alone, and your insides will twist with regret. No man is an island. Not even you.”This was another fantastic read from RS Grey. We have two extremely alpha characters and you just knew from the onset that these two were going to fight and it was surely going to make for some entertaining reading and it did just that.Lily was a fiery redhead, she was sassy, she was confident in her work, she was stubborn, she was hilarious but she was also extremely lovable. Having moved to New York with huge aspirations Lily was soon brought back down to earth with a bump when she saw how fickle New York really was. She had just finished culinary school and had also been a top grade mixologist having also attended a bar tending program and had done everything possible to help herself attain her career goal of working in the restaurant business. Lily was also Jo’s best friend and had come to New York as Jo had told her that Julian’s best friend Dean owned a chain of restaurants so there could be an opening for her to get her career off the ground.Having sauntered into one of Dean’s restaurants unknowingly and seeing them struggle, Lily plants herself behind the bar for an on the job interview and having put her Tom Cruise Cocktail’esque bar tending skills to good use the on duty manager is extremely impressed. However, when an obnoxious customer comes in and really pushes all of Lily’s buttons she does not hold back...but it just so happens that this tricky customer is the owner, Dean Harper.“Being a diabolical villain was definitely a good look for me.”Dean was a work-a-holic, he was highly successful, young and entrepreneurial, he lived for success, he wanted the accolades...or so he thought. Everything else in life was put on the back burner for work and that included his heart and he definitely didn’t have time in his life for a little sassy firecracker who told him his cocktails were old fashioned and basically...crap!“It was time to get to know the enemy.”These two were definitely enemies, they absolutely hated each other and there is nothing better than a good enemy to lover’s story. I loved Lily with a passion, she stood up for herself and took no crap from anyone, especially Dean and it was this trait that tended to get her into trouble the most. Dean and Lily are very similar in that respect, Dean is far from used to anyone challenging his ideas or decisions so you always knew that when Dean employed her after pressure from Jo and Julian that this workplace was going to get sooooo much more interesting.“He was wrong; I didn’t love it as much as him. I loved it more.”The spats between these two had me in hysterics at times, yet underneath those cat fights was undeniable sizzling chemistry and both of them knew it. The trouble is with stubborn ass people is that they don’t give in easily and it was this push and pull that keeps you glued from page to page. For me their fighting though was more like foreplay and the more they fought the more heated it got and it was only in the heat of an argument that you could see slight chinks in their emotional armour, those little slivers that peek out and let the other one know their real thoughts and feelings. It is this explosive reaction to each other that leads to some explosive scenes between the sheets and these two certainly warmed up my kindle.“If only she and I could shut up for ten minutes, the sex would be the best of lives. Angry. Hard. Fast. Not love. Not even close. War.”With two characters that don’t trust easily and have an intense love/hate relationship this book has something for everyone. We have some terrific banter, a bit of angst, that fantastic push and pull wrapped up with some fiery sexual tension and underneath we have two characters that really deserve to experience love. Even amongst all this fire we have some fantastically tender scenes that will melt even the coldest of hearts and you will be championing these two all the way.“...I wanted to climb and climb and climb, but the top turned out to be an even colder type of isolation.”This was another great instalment in this series from RS Grey and I cannot wait to see who she has in store for us next.

With Lily's best friend now living in New York working for Vogue and hooked up with Julian, Josephine offers Lily a place to come and stay till she finds a job in the big Apple as for how hard can it be since she is a qualified chef after graduating from Culinary School. With Josephine and Julian's connections, Lily ends up getting a job trial at Dean Harper's restaurant. She is amazing, but of course, things don't go as well as they should when she accidentally ends up insulting Dean Harper himself. He fires her on the spot, and now her dreams are dashed. The thing is as Dean's best friend happens to be Julian and Lily's Josephine the pair will be spending a lot more time together. Lily and Dean seem to bring out the worst in each other, but underneath all the bickering, the pair makes a great team. Is their underlining love bubbling up underneath their hatred for one another? As a fan of romantic comedy, I have to say I adored this book and now I can't wait to go back and read R.S Grey's other books including Book #1 with Josephine and Julian's story. The Allure of Dean Harper has everything from lots of laughs to witty banter and undercover spy work when one of Dean's business partners tries to steal his ideas. This scene included a visit to the strip club and was hilarious, I loved this book and chuckled my way through it. I also have to admit that I found myself liking the character of Dean Harper and seems he found his way onto my Book Boyfriend list.If you want laughs, drama and adventure and a great friendship story, then check out The Allure of Dean Harper by R.S Grey and if you love your cocktails - then you may find yourself creating new cocktail recipes once you close the pages of The Allure of Dean Harper by R.S Grey.
